Our mission

Wolf Pups on Wheels exists to close the gap between what children with disabilities need and what insurance is willing to provide. We fund therapy, adaptive equipment, and assistive technology for families navigating a system that was never fully built with their child in mind — because no family should have to choose between fighting for coverage and actually getting care. Founded by a disability family and driven by a community of advocates who understand the struggle firsthand, we believe every child deserves access to the tools and treatment that help them thrive — regardless of what their insurance card says.

Impact story

When I became Bennett's mom, I thought my background would protect us. I am an APRN. I understand medical systems, insurance language, and how to navigate the spaces most families find overwhelming. I knew what prior authorization meant. I knew how to write an appeal letter. I knew the questions to ask and the rights we had. And it was still one of the hardest things our family has ever done. The phone calls that went nowhere. The denials for equipment Bennett needed. The therapy sessions we fought for while developmental windows kept moving. My husband Brett, quietly figuring out how to make every space more accessible for our son. Our older boy Bo, watching all of it and somehow becoming one of the fiercest advocates for his brother we have ever seen. I kept thinking about the families doing this without what we had. Without the medical background. Without knowing there was an appeals process, or that a denial wasn't the final word, or that the system's first answer didn't have to be the last one. Those families are everywhere. And they are doing something extraordinary — loving their child relentlessly, fighting for them constantly, and navigating a system that asks too much of the people it should be supporting. Wolf Pups on Wheels was built for them. In our first year we served 13 children — funding adaptive bikes so kids could ride alongside their peers, medical strollers that actually fit a child's body and medical equipment, intensive therapy programs that build the kind of strength and motor control that weekly sessions alone can't achieve, AAC devices and eye gaze software that gave children who cannot speak a voice for the very first time. One mom told us her daughter said "I like you" through her eye gaze device for the first time. Another family can finally walk to the park together. A little boy who spent his first 313 days in a hospital is now squealing with joy in a pool. We did not fix the system. We never claimed we could. But we showed up for families while they navigated it. We closed gaps that should not have existed. We said yes when everything else said no. That is the work. And we are just getting started.
