The David C. Howard Foundation is dedicated to supporting the hardworking individuals of the restaurant and service-industry communities by providing financial assistance for medical co-pays, deductibles, and essential healthcare needs. We believe that no cook, server, bartender, dishwasher, or hospitality worker should face medical hardship alone. Our mission is to ease financial burdens, restore hope, and strengthen the community through compassionate, practical support when life takes an unexpected turn.

Impact story

I just wanted to reach out and say a massive thank you for the $150.00 grant. You have no idea what a lifesaver this is. To be totally honest, waiting on insurance companies to approve medication is an absolute nightmare. I’m still stuck in that holding pattern with them, playing the waiting game, and my prescription isn't exactly cheap. Working on my feet all night behind the bar is exhausting enough, but trying to do it while stressing over how to afford the medicine I need to actually function? That’s a whole different level of stress. Because of your help, I was able to walk up to the pharmacy counter and actually pick up my prescription without having to calculate whether I could afford groceries this week. It completely bridged the gap for me while the insurance bureaucrats take their sweet time sorting out my coverage. Bartending is all about taking care of people, but it’s a really incredible feeling when someone steps up to take care of us. Your foundation made a stressful situation so much easier to handle, and I am incredibly grateful for your kindness. Thank you for looking out for me. It means the world.
