Tempest Preservation exists to preserve the world’s musical heritage by documenting, digitizing, and sharing historically significant instruments so their unique voices can inspire musicians, composers, researchers, and future generations.
Impact story
Some of the world’s most remarkable instruments spend their lives behind glass, locked in vaults, or protected because they wouldn’t survive being touched by thousands of hands. With your support, we preserve not only what these instruments look like and the stories they carry, but what they sound like. Through meticulous recording and digital preservation, we create permanent digital editions that capture their unique voices before they are lost to time. Those preserved voices don’t remain locked away. Through our platform, composers, performers, students, educators, and researchers around the world can experience, study, and create music with instruments they would otherwise never have the opportunity to play.
