0%Our mission
Motley Zoo Animal Rescue is dedicated to improving the lives of animals locally, nationally and internationally; alleviating their suffering and elevating their status in society through the rescue and rehabilitation of animals in need and through the education of their community on responsible pet ownership and animal welfare, advocating the value of all animal life, in hopes to end the neglect and abuse of all animals and to end the devastating pet overpopulation through spay and neuter advocacy.
Impact story
Motley Zoo has rescued and rehomed more than 5,400 animals since 2009- with an extra focus on training to also support animals staying in their homes and forgoing the animal welfare system altogether. We recently had a few dogs surrendered to us from someone who was losing their home. One of the dogs was placed with a family that had kids who are on the spectrum- and one was having nightmares for the past few months. However, after adopting from us, the child dreamed instead that he and the new pup were cuddling together. She kept him safe and he didn't have nightmares! He even ran downstairs to inquire whether it was just a dream they'd adopted- but the pup came running over from across the room and he was thrilled it was real! We love to make happy stories, even from sad situations- and what makes the story even better, is we were able to reunite one of the dogs with the owner who is in a better place with gainful employment! This work is not just about rehoming, it's about supporting the animals- and people- as they need with adaptable, creative strategies and policies that ensure the best possible outcomes for both.
