BRAVEE exists to heal men from the inside out — equipping them with the mental, emotional, and relational tools they need to show up whole. Because when a man is well, his family feels it. When his family is well, the community comes alive. Through free, transformative programs that meet men and youth where they are — from ages 4 to adulthood — we build the kind of inner strength that ripples outward for generations

Impact story

I didn't start BRAVEE because it was easy. I didn't start it because it was fun. I started it because I watched a gap in this world cost good people everything — and nobody was doing anything about it. I've seen it with my own eyes. Dads. Brothers. Uncles. Grandpas. Good men — strong men — losing their battle to depression and anxiety without ever making a sound. Men walking through the worst seasons of their lives with nowhere to turn, no one to call, and no language for what they were feeling. Men living in a permanent state of fight or flight, too scared to ask for help, too proud to admit they were drowning, and too often turned away or priced out when they finally found the courage to try. I know that feeling personally. I have stood in a room full of a thousand people and felt completely, utterly alone. I have been turned away from help. I have felt the sting of a price tag on something that should never cost a person anything. I have struggled and suffered in silence while the world kept moving like nothing was wrong — like I wasn't fighting for my life on the inside. I got tired of it. I got tired of watching men who deserved better not get better. I got tired of silence being the only option. So I stopped waiting for someone else to build what we needed — and I built it myself. BRAVEE is the first nonprofit in Indianapolis offering free mental health services specifically designed for men and their children. No cost. No barriers. No turning anyone away. Because the men who need this most are the same men who have been told — directly or indirectly — that help was not meant for them. We start with the man first. Not because children matter less. Because a man who heals shows up differently — for his partner, for his children, for his block, for his city. When a man heals, his family heals. When families heal, communities thrive. And when we reach his children while he's doing that work — catching them at ages 4, 8, 14 — we stop generational trauma at the root before it ever has a chance to take hold. We break the cycle before the cycle breaks them. Mental health is the first key to all of it. But the world keeps leaving it out of the conversation. BRAVEE puts it first — every program, every session, every day. When a man heals, his spouse gets a better partner. His child gets a present parent. His community gains a pillar of strength — a living example of what becomes possible when someone finally gets the help they deserved all along. That ripple does not stop. It moves through households and down streets and across generations. That is why BRAVEE exists.
